Michael Lutfy

is a Durango-based photographer whose portfolio includes landscapes, wildlife, travel and commercial photography. After graduating from the Brooks Institute of Photography, he embarked on a career in film, photography and publishing. He was an Editorial Director for Penguin-Random House from 1989-2011, producing photo-intensive books on motorsports, cooking, photography and health.

His passion for landscape and wildlife photography has taken him around the world and throughout the Southwest in search of striking locations and dramatic light that create a vivid sense of place. His work is displayed at Chimayo restaurant in Durango, Colorado, and on his website.

2025 Colorado Pro Photographer Showdown. Michael was selected for the inaugural Colorado Pro Photographer Showdown, an event featuring five professional photographers. Each participant presented a 10-minute, music-backed video showcase of their work at the Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall.
